When Our Volunteer Team Came to Nsanvu
July 2025
In July 2025 a team of volunteers travelled to Uganda to spend time with us. We were at the airport to meet them.
The pupils gave them a proper welcome, handing each of them a name badge, and the team introduced themselves to the whole school on the compound.
In the classrooms
The volunteers taught alongside our teachers. One ran a science lesson on the human body, asking pupils where the bones sit and what they do.
In the younger classes there were craft sessions with coloured card, glue and plenty of concentration.
Singing together
No visit is complete without music. Turn the sound on for this one.
The team also joined our morning assembly, when the whole school lines up on the compound to pray and sing before lessons.
Why it matters
For our pupils, a visit like this is a big event. New faces, new songs, new games, and the feeling that people from far away think their school is worth the journey. For our teachers, it's a chance to share ideas, try new ways of teaching and be encouraged.
The team came as guests and left as friends. Thank you to every one of them for coming so far and giving so much of yourselves. Read more about how they worked alongside our teachers.
