Glad to Serve: Working Alongside Our Teachers

The volunteers who came in July 2025 wore white T-shirts printed with “Glad to serve” and the school's name. Our staff wore their blue YAEC shirts. Very soon it was hard to tell who was hosting whom.
Sharing ideas with our teachers
Some of the team spent time with our teachers, sharing teaching ideas and simple resources made from coloured paper and card. Our teachers do a great deal with very little, and fresh ideas go a long way.
Crafts with the little ones
In the P1 classroom the desks were covered in coloured card, glue and scissors. Pupils, teachers and volunteers worked on crafts together.
A warm welcome
On the first day the pupils lined up to greet the team and hand each visitor a name badge. There were speeches outside the classrooms, plenty of smiles, and a few shy faces that didn't stay shy for long.
