Our New Classroom Block Is Up

March 2026

Not long ago, some of our classes met in a shelter made of timber poles, with gaps in the walls and a plastic sheet to keep the rain out. Today there's a new brick classroom block on the compound.

It has solid walls, barred windows, a good roof and a long covered verandah down one side. On a hot afternoon or in a heavy downpour, that verandah is where you'll find the children.

It didn't happen overnight, and it didn't happen without help. The bricks were paid for by people who chose to give, often small amounts. If you were one of them, your gift is standing in Nsanvu right now.

To every donor, sponsor, volunteer and friend who helped put up these walls: webale nnyo, thank you.Everyone at YAEC

What's next

A classroom needs more than walls. We're now raising money for desks, chalkboards and solar lighting for the new rooms. See our donate page if you'd like to help, or read how the whole school has grown.
