Help Us Fill Our Library Shelves

May 2026

Walk into one of our classrooms during a reading lesson and it goes quiet. Heads down, fingers following the words. Our pupils love to read.

The problem is there aren't enough books. The whole school library fits on one set of wooden shelves on a classroom wall.

The school library: one set of wooden shelves with a few books

Our 136 children share those shelves, from three-year-olds in nursery to P7 pupils getting ready for their final exams. A child who can take a book home keeps learning after the bell rings. Right now there aren't enough to go round.

What we need

  • Picture books and simple storybooks for nursery and lower primary
  • Reading books and chapter books for older pupils
  • Reference books such as atlases, dictionaries and books on science and nature
  • Sturdy shelves to keep them on

How you can help

You can give towards library books by Mobile Money or send us a pledge. If you have good children's books you no longer need, or your church or school would like to hold a book drive for us, please get in touch.
